Well its a pretty long story..
First at 2009 they gave a poster signed by zero saying they are making a new code geass project but never specified whether its a side story or a continuation of series or OVA. Then, in 2010, they talked about a green lit project, called Code Geass GAIDEN : Bokoku no akito. The special word added, GAIDEN, means 'side story'. So Lelouch and Kallen and all the original code geass characters may not be there.
The info they provided was that the story was set at about 2017, which they said is 7-8 years after the Lelouch incident. The peace Lelouch worked so hard on to make was not maintained and they were having so,e war with Europe or some war regarding Europe-im not very sure-. Their also making a new manga called Code Geass : Shikkoku no Renya. But its about some other character who can shoot some stars from his lefy arm [if i am not mistaken].
However both of these Code Geass projects have not been released yet. You can find some fan made videos regarding R3 but i doubt a REAL R3[continuation of R2] is coming anytime soon.
Don't worry, i'm frustrated too.

I lerned though from 1 of my sources that c2 is still in it and somthing that there mite be Lelouch but not sure on the Lelouch 1 yet welll atleast c2 is in it still well hope this helped a little.

Ya but the thing is that the new code geass series is not R3 so its kinda disappointing especially since i've seen so many suggested R3 video openings. It's kinda depressing you know.

Yeah it is but atleast that there still having code geass this is kinda Season 1 of the new sereis i would say but its shorter if say r3 you know well we have the same opion i would say atleast that some 1 agrees with me on some things about r3.

@ things r3 is a side story and so far it is the company has released it on there site and if dont belive me look for your self well that all the info i got for now the othere stuff is not important for now.

As my classmates said, it's a manga. it has an ending and its ending was the r2. nothing will follow. but some rumors said, it will going to have a next season. we will catch up some updates about it! :-) -MNIS

Since your kinda new here i will tell you what we know sa far k so far what we call season 3 is not part of the first 2 seasons so its not really season 3 how we would put it if want some good info goo to www.codegeass.us they have great info on every thing hope this helps alittle.
